Catalog
The catalog holds the reference data that assets are built on: manufacturers, models, types, and places. Setting these up before adding assets avoids having to create them inline mid-form.
Recommended setup order
Section titled “Recommended setup order”- Manufacturers — you need a manufacturer before you can create a model.
- Asset Models — each model belongs to a manufacturer.
- Asset Types and Places — independent of each other; create these in whichever order suits your workflow.
- Assets — once the above are in place, create asset records and link them to the catalog.
All four sections are under the Inventar Organisation sidebar group.

Creating catalog entries inline
Section titled “Creating catalog entries inline”You do not have to visit the catalog pages before adding assets. The asset form lets you create new types, places, models, and manufacturers on the fly using Create and select inline forms that appear directly within the select fields. However, managing the catalog from its dedicated pages gives you better visibility over what already exists and avoids duplicates.
